And is there anything else I might need before a track day? The track I'm looking at just says all lights and mirrors taped over or removed, good tires, and a suit, but don't you usually need a track lower fairing so you can't leak oil?

my advice, since you sound fairly young and probably college bound, is to just save that money. the more you focus on education and stuff you NEED now, the more potential it has to pay off big later.

but, that's just my paternal instinct kicking in...

I'm in college already and it's paid for. My scholarship actually pays me to go to school.

In fact, when I get out here in under two years, ill probably buy a V-rod Harley and covert my R6 to a pure track machine.

that's great news! shit, man, someone's gotta be the voice of reason, right? may as well be me.

if you're bent on spending this money, my vote is to spend it on track days and race schools. you can do a lot with a stock sport bike...

In that order, btw... You won't get anything out of a race school if it's your first time on the track.

Sounds like the general consensus. Ill probably go to Dallas and get fitted for a suit over break, then get the bike set up for the track.
