question, im not sure if its been answered already or not but, if i do keyless on my bike will my headlights still work?
Dude, if you need your headlights to work, it is a street bike. Why would you want to get rid of the one theft prevention device on the bike? They are already easy enough to hot wire, but you don't need to make it easier.
Headlights and everything else will still work... I know a few people who have keyless ignition on street legal bikes. One uses it on his stunt bike just so he can remove the ignition, but he also has a RFID alarm that cuts the ignition if the alarm isn't near the bike. A few others hide a secondary cut off switch as well. Even on my track bike I have a secondary switch hidden.
has anyone used an OEM switch to do this? i see all these horrible DIY hack jobs on here and would much prefer a clean setup.
You can easily use the high beam switch to do it. There is an incoming line, and the switch toggles between two outputs. Just leave the low beam output disconnected, and hook up the ignition wires to the input, and the high beam output. Simple and clean.
need help!!!!! did what the post told me to do. connected 2 small wires and then brown and red to switch. bike only starts with clutch pulled in and then cuts off when released. the ecu rings constantly now. its a race bike i am removing the ignition from.. anyone have any ideas?
