So today I finally got my LV slip-on and MJS headers and threw it all together (shameless plug here for Anthony @ Bauce for the hookup on the silencer!!). I just wanted to post some pics up to get your guys' opinions because it looks a little weird to me.
The whole exhaust portion starting from the headers looks really long. Am I not fitting the linking pipe on the headers, and the silencer onto the linking pipe correctly? I think I am since the spring fits snug between the linking pipe clamp and the can itself.. there's no two ways to cut it. Plus, there's no more clearance for the linking pipe on the headers or the silencer on the linking pipe. I've fit the three pieces as snug as I can get it. Any suggestions? Is it OK? Maybe it just looks weird to me - it looks so bare because there's no more heat shield there.
Looks the same as this guys http://www.r6-forum.com/forums/showp...0&postcount=13. Pretty much all slip ons look like that. The only way to get one that sits flush into the bike is a full system because the header goes into the muffler without any sort of transition.

OK, better safe than sorry. Pics in the other post confirm that. Since I don't have stock rearsets, I tried six ways to Sunday to get the angled screws and bolts to lineup but just couldn't get the securing strap on the can to attach to the rearset. Obviously I'd like to have it on, but is it really necessary?

I would use the strap just to be safe. Im sure you spent a good amount on that slip on.
