Quick question, I was told the track plastics will not fit properly with the stock exhaust (cat), they will sit about an 1" lower. In order to get the proper fit I will need a full exhaust, is this the case?
You don't need to buy a full exhaust, you can keep your headers. You just need to delete the cat. I'm getting a set of track plastics from Anthony at Bauce and I'm having a midpipe welded in to delete the cat. Then I'll pick up a slip on from Anthony as well to complete the exhaust.
I'm using a Ttuners - http://shop.ttuners.com/category.sc?categoryId=3
But there's also MJS - http://shop.mjsperformance.com/categ...1?categoryId=3

I ended up getting the full system from MJS and sent back all my OEM stuff so it ended up coming out pretty cheap.
I run the stock exhaust with Sharkskinz lower. It is an older belly pan, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.
The biggest problem is heat. I've heat shielded the fairing with aluminum panels. But I still have had things melt, like the kick stand switch and the drain tubes near the oil filter.

Is the mid pipe and headers two different pieces? You talk about welding. I have a Yoshi slip-on now, don't want to buy a full system if I can just delete the cat.

You cut it into two different pieces. You would be cutting out the muffler in the belly pan and replacing it with the t-tuners pipe.
