Question About Race Tail/Undertail
I've bought fiberglass fairings for my 2002 and did a test fit.
After installing the tail, I realized the tray is now exposed from the bottom. With stock fairings, this would be covered by an undertail.
So my questions are, is this alright to have exposed?
If it isn't, do I just fab up a rectangle fiberglass piece to cover it? I've never really looked at a race bike's undertail
Here is a pic for reference:

Re: Question About Race Tail/Undertail
Most race bodywork should come with an under tail.... I didn't run one on my older set and it was fine.

That bike doesn't come with an aftermarket "draft pan" as far as I know. You'll be fine as long as your battery tray is in tact.

Re: Question About Race Tail/Undertail
You're fine with it the way it is and your choice if you want to fab something up to make it look the way you want. With it being a flat square it wouldn't be hard to fab up a fiberglass insert using Dezus fasteners to hold it in place and easily taken on and off.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Probably leaning towards the duct tape and beer box solution...
I'll probably leave it be, and if I get bored and want another project this winter I'll fab one up.

This.
BUT!... Has to be a 24 case, you have to drink them all in one sitting, and then post pics afterwards.
Then, it will be suitable to use.
