I think that one went over (under?) everyone's head. I hope that means you didn't actually swap a gauge cluster and rip some dude off and then got pissed about it when he called you out on it.
It'd be nice if they buried the electronics that tracked mileage in the actual motor somewhere, instead of the freakin' gauge cluster, which takes all of 20 minutes to swap. There's always a way to cheat it, but if you had to say, split the cases to do it, it'd happen a lot less. You'd also have the added bonus that if you swapped a motor, you'd have the new accurate mileage for it.
It would just make the bike heavier. I like it under 350 lbs dry!
I'd just make a tab that breaks if you remove the cluster. Broke tab, better have a good excuse.

The only way to have an idea if the mileage on the bike is legit or not is to ask at the license plate office... They know if the mileage was always accurate during ownership transfer but you'll never be 100%, unless you're the first owner?
Before buying my 6 I was looking at a R1 on kijiji and when I asked them, they told me the mileage had been reported inacurate between owners. Told the seller and he didn't even knew (well, that's what he said). I didn't buy it

Correct.
