Looking to buy this R6 - & for a bit of help.

My friend has what appears to be a 2006 R6 in his shop he's looking to sell.
I'll be going out tomorrow to look at it, maybe you folks could give me some details on it in the time being?
It's suppose to be extremely low mileage with a clean title.

The rear tail fairing does not appear to be the original, or painted.
The side trim by the gas tank also appears to be missing.
Rear tire appears thin.

Is there anything I should specifically be looking out for?

It does take a fair amount of miles to wear out the original tires. How low are the miles? Nit pick at shit bro. These bikes, people are so anal with sometimes that every little scratch, ding, and dimple that gives a gal her personality is an atrocity to someone else!!

And if they are the original tires or tyres as some may write it out, they need replacing for real.

Flushing fluids isn't cheap. I'm the only one I know selling the good oil for cheap. So no matter what you're well over $50 even using maxima or bel-ray oil vs some serious shit that 16k RPM monster deserves!!

Look for anything leaking, check the sprockets and chain for wear/stretching, check the clip-ons/forks to make sure they are straight and to verify it hasn't been downed. Ask for a log of oil and fluid changes and maintenance if he has one. just check to make sure it is in ok shape.

how much is he asking for it? I wouldn't pay more than $5k for an 06 even if it does have low miles.

look for any signs of self wiring, most people that wire up their own bikes (HIDs etc.) and don't know what they're doing end up butchering the wiring harnesses

I'm positive he does not have any logs on the motorcycle.
Nor does he have the seat cowl.

He's looking for $3,000 cash.

If the motorcycle has never been laid down, and not been played with such as the wiring -
I'm interested.
If it's been down and repaired, I have no interest in the bike.

I'm just curious to know what happened to the trim, and why the rear tail is painted white.

I'll post an update with pictures tomorrow.
That picture is what he sent me today.

Why are you so sketched out about the tail. Looks to me like it was painted white and then a sticker was slapped on. I think the white looks pretty good. Also why would he have a seat cowl? It's an aftermarket part.

Usually when a bike gets laid down the tail, side fairings clipons/bar ends and case covers get rashed. just try to look at all the points that would contact asphalt if it went down. Thats what got damaged on my lowside.

Looks like a 2nd gen or "S" model with a 3rd gen tail to me...... Better pics would help.

EDIT: Now that I look at the shifter, I am wrong.....
