Getting it right the first time is always the goal, unfortunately i fell way short of that goal lol. I have had my carbs off 5 times. I started out with the Factory Pro jet kit, and a k&n filter, couldn't get it to run right, i replaced the filter with the OEM one and it was better. The best thing i did was got rid of the factory pro needles with OEM needles and used shims, and changed the pilot's to #40's. My bike runs awesome, but has a bouncy idle, from 1800 down 1200, not consistent at all. I have my screws set at 2.5 turns out, but slush319 recommended to go to 2 turns out (factory setting) since i went with the #40 pilots, so i'm going to try that. I like working on carbs, it's always fun and i enjoy a challenge, but these r6 carbs are the pickiest carbs i have ever touched. I had to do it over again, i would not buy a kit, i would order the jets separate and save some money.

You will need to change your main jets also, but you can buy individual jets at rockymountainatv.com and a few other places, now the pilots you might have to get from factory pro but i'm not sure about that. Look at the carb/elevation thread and see what others are running, i'm at 875' above on my elevation. I bought some washer from radio shack and turned the o.d. down on a lathe so they would fit inside the retainer, when you get your carbs all apart you will see what i'm talking about.
