I've got an 01 pathfinder with 194k on the clock. Towing to and from the track finally did it in. Now it's only useful for around town errands until the trans goes.
Hopefully you'll get into a class. I'm sure if you read up, there's plenty of good info for a new person riding.
Stuff, like, don't stop in the center of the lane at a light in all the oil. Stop in the tire tracks.
Body position is crucial to limiting the lean angle of the bike in turns.
Front braking for the vast majority of times, etc.
