Ninja 300 as a track bike?

You can have a lot of fun on the 300. Many guys go smaller displacement for the track and love it. The speeds are down so your chance of being seriously injured are reduced. It's a whole lot more fun chasing down faster bikes with an under powered bike. I can still recall almost every time I have gotten the drive out of a corner to hold off a liter bike or come around a liter bike with my 6. I can't even begin to recall chasing down equal bikes. I say get the 300 and work on your skill set. You will be amazed how many bigger bikes you can pick off once you get the skills.

We changed our Moto3 rules for 2013 to include the 300. We've also got a lightweight endurance class that thing would be perfect for. Several clubs around the country have some pretty good 250 grids with great racing.

I can certainly recall a fair amount of 250s blasting by me while I was on the R6.

Last track day a dude on a 250 absolutely stuffed me up the inside. He was hauling and I imagine it would have completely killed his momentum if he had to get on the binders for my slow ass.

I dunno about NYST bro... I believe a few pretty significant people have already spoken out about how they will never ever ride that track.

Even the TD org I'm affiliated with booked days there, but not till late in the summer since it doesn't really get hot up there till later in the season.

The entry and exit on that track doesn't exist at all. It's like entering the track into 140 MPH pack of bikes at the end of the straight. They need to build a bridge or something or someone will get killed.

And the run off is REAL questionable. They claim to be clearing more trees, etc, but I know of a couple turns that are VERY dangerous with minimal run off.

I'm just throwin this out there for you bro. I'll prolly come up and see what it's about, but I also went all the way to WV to ride Shenandoah and it's surrounded by cement walls..

I run both my 250 and r6 on the track.

250 or 300 they are a *****ing blast and yes if you can enter hot and carry speed, you can bust dat ass of a larger cc bikes.
