Some crazy crashes and close calls right there. Made me wonder what happens if somebody highsides/crashes and causes somebody else to crash right behind them. what happens then as far as getting the bikes fixed?

It's the price you pay, you hope you never do but you, at some point will probably have startled someone else into a crash. It keeps things civil to know that at the end of the day you're responsible for your own damage. Does that mean you don't help others? No, but you are not obligated to.
