Ohlins Rear Shock for 05

I have found a Ohlins rear shock at a decent price but the part number is for 03-04. The part number is YA3050. I have heard that the 05 requires a taller shock due to the inverted forks. Does any know if it will fit?

It'll probably mount up just fine - whether it's the optimal setup or may change the geometry of the bike - I do not know.

See if you can get an eye-to-eye measurement, and compare to the shock you have now?

The YA305 is 5mm shorter. It is 295mm in length, were as the YA505 is 300mm in length. (which is only for the 05) The stoke is also little different also 305 is 62.5mm and the 505 is 62mm. Not much difference at all but maybe enought to mess with the geometry of the bike.

the piggyback needs to be horizontal for the 05 as well, or it will get dented by the swingarm. the 3-4 model has the resivour thing vertical. eye to eye you can compensate for easily with the ride height adjuster, but don't mount it if the resiv. is not horizontal, and totally above the swingarm.
