I know you have to be enjoying that fresh start. It's always the best thing to do after something drastic happens. Makes for a good building process especially knowing things you would have known earlier. The best of luck to you as well.
Yeah, I've lived out on my own since I left for college... I dicked that up, after being recruited to play lacrosse, that's what I went to college and did. Ended up failing out... Floating around for the next year or so working as a Best Buy manager, and a bartender. Decided I wanted to do more. Trained and joined the Navy as a Rescue Swimmer. Had a blast, but deployments wear on you in ways I couldn't describe. Got married, had a daughter, and having grown up a military brat, didn't want my daughter to grow up with daddy gone for a year+ at a time. So made plans to get out, then got divorce paperwork in Afghanistan... Ugh... By the time I got home(extended in country) all the divorce proceedings were done...
Wound down my career and made the decision to move back out to TX with family, because truly, at the end of the day, that's all you have. Friends have come and gone, but my family has always been there. So getting a fresh start is was...
Good on you for resisting the urge to get a place with friends... Renting is such a waist of money. Yeah, in the houses I've lived, I had some great times hosting epic parties and shit, but at the end of the day what did I have to show for it? Nothing... haha So good on you. I can't wait to OWN my own house... Until then, I'll make this work. Full time student, and track junkie for life! It's really not a bad deal. Especially if you saw how the parents roll... This house is NUTS... In so many ways...
Best of luck! Post up pics when all is said and done! You can start posting in my HOME PROJECTS thread too! Owning a home brings on the home projects!
