Anyone have any ideas? Bought a few pieces to replace my damaged ones, and a tank was on the list. Received it, but w/o a key and the gas cap is still on there. There is still the one bolt that is underneath the cap itself, and I cannot access it. I just want to beat the crap out of it! Bought it through a 3rd party so no idea who the original owner even is.

I just ended up drilling it, and took that bolt out. After that, there is a little tab that I accessed through the bottom of the tank. Pushed it in, and bingo! Came out.
I attempted to do the whole flathead screwdriver and hammer method. Beat the crap out of it. Also, I have no clue what I'm really doing. No luck so far. I've read a bunch of people mention the drilling method like you did. Where exactly do you drill, what size drill bit, how far do you drill down the locking cylinder so I don't puncture anything, etc.? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Probably going to put a keyless gas cap on it.
