Hey all, my bike is idling around 3000 RPM and I'm trying to get it back to where it belongs (not sure how it ended up that high). The problem is that I can turn my idle adjustment screw 6 ways to Sunday and it doesn't make a lick of difference even after snapping the throttle a few times, turning it off and on, etc.
Yeah I recently replaced the coolant and had it down the throttle body (i.e. removed gas tank and air filter housing. Where would I check for a vacuum leak?
what I would do is raise the tank back up and remove the airbox. hold the slide in the throttle body open and open the throttle and let it snap back closed. see if the blades in the throttle body are closing all the way.
if they are, look for any hoses that fell off the throttle bodies and make sure they are seated on the lower boots all the way.
vacuum leaks can be heard by listening for a hissing sound. a piece of hose(like a garden hose but only a foot long) works great for pin pointing noises like that.
