Does anyone use towels to dry their bike or to remove polish after it is applied? The Zaino site recommends using 100% cotton towels. I don't really have any experience with high quality towels, so I'm coming to you guys for help.
I found these towels but I don't know how good they are.
Basically I'm asking if anyone uses towels and if so, what brand / style do you use, and would my choice work well?
used terry cloths towels b4 i made the switch to microfiber towels they are not even in the same category as Mf towels if you ever take any advice on the internet get some MF towels you'll thank me besides what do you have 2 lose 10$ seriously try 'em
I use those leathery type thingies - I think they're called chamois or something for the drying up and I use micro fiber to finish the job and remove wax.
Well, you are all saying you use microfiber, but my microfiber towels (got them in a pack from Schucks) just smear water around; they don't really absorb it. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
NO! Don't EVER use the ShamWow!! I bought a couple at the Car show a few months ago! I used it ONCE on my car about a month ago, it ended up scratching the SHIT out of my hood. I threw all them in the trash after that!
THE best thing to use to remove polish is baby's cotton diapers IMO,that might be debatable but if you are just washing your bike the 100% way to dry is a leaf blower. Absolutly no swirls and it will get any/all water out of every nick and cranny.
That's actually what I've been using so far. They are awesome, but they don't work too well for drying because they are so small. And I don't have a leaf blower
Ive used Zaino for years on cars and bikes...I have a small detailing business, and I've always used standard bath towels, terrycloth with no problems of fading etc. I did a 06 Vette, burnt orange, a few weeks ago, and took the Zaino off with blue towels, came out like glass! But after 4 coats, it should right.!
I also find that my MF towels don't soak up as much as I think they should.. I started using my air compressor to blow almost all of the water off the bike and then just touching up the left overs with the MF towel. Also the air compressor is badass at getting the nooks and crannies in the dash dry :YEA.
:lmao at you guys with the lawn blowers... I know its the same concept so I applaud that... but I just had this image of me driving down the street and seeing some dude standing in his driveway aiming his lawn blower at his bike and it made me crack up.
i use the absorber or leaf blower to dry and microfiber for detailing.
