So my 03 R6 about a month ago and its awesome but since I have been riding it, once it gets warmed up and the idle speed at rest is really low and the bike dies when I come to a stop. I was wondering if anyone could help with this problem and could give me some pointers on how to adjust the idle speed.
There is an adjuster on the side near the fairings that will allow you to adjust the idle. From what I remember, yous just twist it. I've never had an idle problem yet.
yeah there is a knob you can turn with a screw driver to up your idle speed..its on the right hand side right next to your dipstick, its silver....i ran into the same issue a few months back and all i did was turn it a little and its been fine ever since.
Not to hijack, but since were on idle's is it normal for my idle to be high sometimes at a light and I have to give it a little rev to get it to normal?
Figured I would hijack too, heck with it. Twice when it has been really cold out and the bike is at idle with temp around 105-115 a friend of mine has given my bike a little rev (to about 2000 or 2500) and when the bike comes back to idle, it died. It only did it twice and both times it was around 44F outside. My first guess is to not put any extra revs on the bike until its completey warm, but in all honesty, it wasn't like it was reallying being romped on, it just struck me funny... any thoughts?
