Which power ones, street or competition? I run power one competitions and typically run 30-31 in the front and 21-22 in the rear when the tires are COLD. I'm not sure if the street tires have the same recommended pressure.
thanks for bringing the two different compounds to my attention. is there a marking on the tire I can look for? since these are race take offs. I assume they're the competition compound but i would like to check. thanks.
I believe that the power pures are the ones with elongated water chanels and the power ones are the ones that look like slicks with very small grooves.
I havent used either, but would say ~30psi in front and rear for street/canyons and about 38-40 if you are just commuting. Take Awalks advice for track psi.
If you're running the PowerOne, there's a significant difference between this year's and last year's tire even thought they look the same. The new ones have a much more flexible carcass.
Old I ran 31f 23.5r most of the time.
New I run 32f 28r most of the time.
Why so low? I have power ones and ride street/e-way and I keep them 2lbs short of the max psi written on the tire. (which I believe is 42)/so mine are both at 40 for street. Too high?
Nah, your good since your on the street. Typically, they jump 3-5 PSI when they are up to temp. Depending on how I ride, I put my Q2 at 36-38 (cold) for street.
Those low PSI's generally refer to track setup. Unless they trying to romp up the twisties.
danaatscootdotnet, thanks for that link bro ! is there any way to tell if I have the new power one's or old ? due to the fact that i bought these as race day take offs. thanks bro.
The only way I could tell was in the flexibility of the sidewall. The new ones squish a lot more. There's a manufacturing date on the side, but all mine are packed in the trailer so I can't tell you how to read it.
cant figure out a date based off any of the numbers on the sidewall, and I cant find any information online about how to 'decode' the date.
