Has anyone colored their forks? Idk what yamaha was thinking making them gold. I know you can powder coat them but that seems like a huge pain the ass. Anyone wrap them? Paint them? If so whats the best way to go about doing this?opcorn:

i want to do mine black as well looks like im either going to have to get new black ones or see if someone can powder coat them for me..doesnt sound fun
powder is going to add a few mils of thickness to the forks... which will make for fun reassembly! Hope whoever is doing them understands not to blast the inside of them.
that's no big deal, the clamps will open up if you need them too. but I'd be worried that the pc will lift off the fork under the clamp and allow the forks to slide up or down.
I think anodizing would be the better way to go.
and I agree the gold is just too 1970's or ghetto for my taste.
and youre a bastard! I just put a thread up on the R1 forum, and did a search. Found a potential trader, looked through the thread and found out YOU already made the trade with him...:cuss
Since your forks are going to probably have to be disassembled if you aren't doing a straight swap, you should totally do the internals too. Chrome is just tacky :sing
That looks like it would be a pain in the ass to do on the forks, jsut since theyre bigger then pegs. but im deffinatly gonna look into that a little more!
