no performance gains, whatsoever. if anybody tells you different, they're lying.
the AIS (air induction system) on our bikes pump fresh air from the airbox into the exhaust so that any unburned fuel has the oxygen needed to ignite (b/c we KNOW it's hot enough in those headers/pipes). anyways, they do this from the factory b/c of emissions... supposed to lower them or something. the bad thing, is that when you're tuning your bike, using a wide-band O2 sensor, that fresh air that's being pumped into the exhaust is going to make the computer think you're running lean. it'll adjust accordingly, and add more fuel. realistically, you're now running rich, and you're not at the peak performance point that an accurate air/fuel ratio provides.
block-offs are simply the caps that go over the ports that the AIS system pumps the fresh air into. this way, when tuning, you can get an accurate AF reading and tune accordingly (better/more accurate tune = better performance).
hope that helps!
stock "plates" where the pump hoses attach (these are under air-filter in front of your airbox)
nah. i did mine b/c of the bazzaz and the auto-tune. pc3 with a downloaded map should be fine. but if we're in the airbox, might as well... it's only another $30 shipped from www.aandrmotorsport.com. plus they're in TX. yeehaw!

Agg2001, i really appreciate your time to write that up for some of us.
