I know its defiantly too early to be looking for these parts, but the mechanics at the dealershit where I bought my new r6 tell me there is no change in styling for the plastics, frame, or from headers out on the new model. Anyone have any idea if this is BS or not? If not, looks like I can start ordering parts now.
Sounds about right.
Keep in mind that these bikes receive MAJOR updates every 2 years.
So, theoretically, the 09 should be very similar to the 08, the 07 to the 06, and so on.
A lot of the time, esp. with the R6's, the only changes ya see during the 2-yr period before a make-over is refinement or updates of engine internals and such.
As long as you go with 08 parts everything will be the exact same. The only change for 09 was color. Order away. There were big changes between 07 and 08, but 08 and 09 are the same.
Appreciate the feedback. Good to know all this since I'm scoring 30% off all aftermarket parts/accessories from the dealership where I bought the bike so long as I do it before I pick up the bike.
Order all the 08 parts you want, it's the same thing. The only change is that Yamaha remapped the ecu or something but the rest of the bike is identical. What color did you get?
Orange and Black. Has ghost flames all over it, including the R6 logo. Fawking sweet imo. Going to be posting pics once I pick it up Wednesday or Thursday (funerals permitting..I'm in the Honor Guard).
if u have a 09 with the gold wheels i will give u my 08 wheels and some cash for yours, i have the dark gold ones. like the titanium ones? look at the black 08s...thats what i have...lemme kno
