Yamaha YZF R6, or Yamaha R6 ?

What is the difference, is there any difference ? ..or is it the same bike, and is it only me who is wrong ?

However, I'm going for a second hand R6 -00 or 01. The older version that is, I kno, but I can't afford a -03 or -04 . What so ever, a nice tailguard and tail light will do it.

Btw, I'm new to the forums

cheers

the yzf r6 and the r6 are the same bike but you may be thinking of an yamaha 600r. this is a different bike than the r6. it is a great sport bike for a first bike. not near as fast or as powerful as an r6 but definantly fast enough to have fun on. my friend has a 600R and he said that he beat his mom's vette in a 1/4 mile but after that she beat him. hope that helped. oh yea and the 600r is cheaper than an r6.

some of the blue 600r's do look kinda like a blue r6 from a distance(a far distance). first off an r6 will have a sticker that says R6 and an 600r will have a 600r sticker. they are both under the passenger seat. the easiest way to tell is that a 600r has a one piece seat and a r6 has a two piece seat. go to yamaha motor corp web site and look at pics of the r6 and the 600r and then you will be able to tell a clear difference.

Yea. I do know what an R6 looks like, and now I know that the 600r is not that similar to it.

Tahnk you.

Anything particular to keep in mind while buying a second hand R6 ?

a 600R looks like an older sportbike the front light looks like a car light..... R6s have 2 glass lenses (eyes) for the bulbs

Don't frown over the older R6s.. they still haul ass like it isn't funny, and the ass-ends on them look sexy (I love the two circle tail lights)

one easy way to tell is that the seat on the 600r is all one peice. and the R6 has a 2 peice seat. and also the seat has a step up for the passenger on the R6 where the seat on the 600r just has a little hump in it

and yes people i said hump
