torx bit for frame-subframe bolts

Does anyone happen to know what size torx bit is required for the bolts connecting the frame to the subframe on an '03 R6? I have found the bolts in the Yamaha parts manual but it only gives a part number with no other information. Thanks.

I would suggest calling a Yamaha dealership and asking them. Just tell them one looks loose and you need to buy one to fit it.
Most service departments would be happy to check for you.

Howdy Fellas,

I can confirm the T-50 Torx bit for an 04 R6, thanks for the info Brav...

You can find all the different sizes at Sears or thieir website. Its cheaper in person tho.

Does anyone have any pics of removing the sub-frame?
Do you have to remove the tank to get to the nuts on the back of some of the bolts??

Any help is appreciated-if not I will figure it out.. I always do

If you do please post as I have to fix this--

I replaced my tail. You will need to undo those 4 main bolts. but before that, unscrew the battery/electrical tray from the subframe. let it sit on top of the rear hugger. tank bolts to main frame. can leave it on. but take the seat off to get to plastic tray. sorry, couldnt find pics. its pretty basic tho.
