99 r6 idle rough & flat spot

hi my 99 r 6 is rough on idle and has a flat spot on pull away, then pulls ok. Once going its fine, running very east and would not know there is a problem. Have spoken to a few people and they have said carb balancing. I have totally stripped carbs and cleaned every last bit off them. I have also replaced the plug leads to cancel out the problem being spark. But my garage says it is not a balance problem, though it has not tested it, thats just from my description of fault. Please if any one has an idea please share it with me, cheers dave

Def sounds like a carb problem, Clean and sync.

or you could have it ran on a dyno with an AFR and see if u have a fueling issue.. be it lean or fat anywhere in the range..

You can pull the spark plugs and look at the color of the tips to see if you are running lean or rich. rich will have a black tip on the plug, lean is white, and perfect is a light tan color.. Cheaper than the dyno, but not as accurate..

And most people clean and synch em and are fine afterwards.. If I just keep mine over 8k RPM's I have no problems.
