Best Exhaust

Does anybody know which slip on exhaust gives the best sound. I know this is an opinionated question. I have a 2009 R6R and have a GYTR on it now. I am disappointed in this pipe. I heard one in person and it sounded good but mine really has no sound to it. I don't know if removing some of the packing will help or not. Any thoughts

Re: Best Exhaust

Someone with a 06+ might want to correct me if I'm wrong, but removing the cat will greatly increase sound. You probably heard that GYTR paired with a full exhaust system of some sort. That's just headers + slip on. no cat.

Re: Best Exhaust

Have an '09 R6S. Just put a LOR on and it sounds NASTY! Just a slip-on and fairly inexpensive.

Re: Best Exhaust

This is the first time I am doing any work on my bike myself. Is it hard to take the CAT off and/or reinstall if needed. Also will any headers work with the slip on and does anyone have a trusted place on where to look.

Re: Best Exhaust

To get a big boost in sound you'll have to lose the cat. I swapped the stock exhaust out for an M4 slip on and the sound is deep and loud enough for me.

Re: Best Exhaust

Remove the cat and the honeycomb crap inside the stock header. A ton of info can be found if you use the search function.

Re: Best Exhaust

I came across a website a year ago that had sound recordings of different exhausts and I found it really helpful. I have no idea where this website is but it is out there somewhere.

Sound is based on opinion. Ultimately, I decided to go with a Yoshimura slip on and have no complaints.

Re: Best Exhaust

I bought mine with a full akropovic exhaust on it and it sounds awesome. I couldn't be happier with the sound and performance of the exhaust. I looked it up tho and this exhaust is on the pricey side, about $1500 bucks... Def gotta loose the cat with what ur workin with... Slip ons are tricky tho... I'd say full exhaust is the way to go! Just my two cents... Ride safe brutha

Two brothers! Love the sound of mine, it's real deep and throaty at low RPMs but straight up sings when you open the throttle!
