high rev?

just put my bike back together after a new valve job... started it up and it idles normal when it is cold and then climbs to 6000rpm after it starts to warm up i took the throttle cables off the carb to see if it did the same thing... could i just need to tighten the "return" cable if so how do i do this? it almost acts as if the choke is on when it isnt hopin for some diagnosing help

Re: high rev?

I would be suspecting a vacuum/fuel supply issue. Triple check all the intake connections ext... my thinking is, its running super lean upon startup, as the engine swells, the vac is compensated, giving you a higher rev.. just a quick thought.

Re: high rev?

Man, have you inspected the choke (start) cable? It's kinda sketchy how it attaches to the carb all the way on the right..
