well, after my getoff, i've started looking at new gloves - dang speedmaster 7.0's exploded on me on impact.
anyhow, i was convinced my next set would be the helds, but after a little more research, more and more people are saying the Cortech Adrenaline gloves were rated higher than the Helds, and are about 1/3 the price. what's your opinion? what have you heard/read? apparently there was a magazine review, and the only glove that beat the Adrenaline was a Dainese glove, but it was 3 to 4 times as expensive. i'm not REALLY concerned with the price, as i'm shopping with insurance money, but if i can get a better glove for 1/3 the price, i'd be stupid to spend $300 "just because." safety is my number one concern... looks, price, brand, etc don't mean isht to me.
go!!!

Rated, how??? Unfortunately, crash-testing is the only real world testing I go by. Cortech is formerly Tour Master, which were meh back then. I'm sure they've improved, but from those around me, Phantom's and Full Metal Racers are crash proven and excellent.

^^I would love to try out these gloves... They just came out... If I didn't buy the Gp Tech's a few months ago, I would of bought these... Contact Eric, via email let him you know Mo (makct04) from the forum and he'll hook you up with a better price than whats listed on the website.
^^^There is also, the Knox Handroids. I have heard nothing bad about these. Somewhere on STG's website there is a video of set that held up amazing even though it was 80+ crash at the track...
^^^Another awesome glove, from an awsome brand of gear. Well worth the pricetag for their gear. Seen plenty of reviews where ALL of their gear has held up great in crashes.
Just trying to give you a little more options... If money isn't stopping you, there are plenty of options. Had I not gotten the steal I did on my GP Tech's I would of bought a different brand. Teknic, Held, Dainese, KNOX, Fieldsheer, RS Taichi to me are all better brands for gloves than A*'s.
There's obviously huge differences between the two. Cortech seems plenty good for the average street rider, but since you're a track junkie, you might want to get the Phantoms or the FMRs.
Thanks for this Agg, I think I'm gonna pick up the Cortechs for now.. my A*'s are Medium, should I assume sizing is the same for Cortech?
The Phantoms are the best gloves I've ever worn. My previous pair was the Icon Mercs. To say they're both a 4/5 in quality tells me all I need to know about this review. I normally respect and follow Sport Rider's advice but this review is tainted on that comparison alone.
Taking this on face value though, the only sub-par rating for the Phantom is its fit. That's personal. There are high-end A* gloves that I would give a 2 to fit because they just aren't the right fit for my hands. Simple as that.
Have you had a chance to try them on yet? If not, I'd suggest ordering some from a place with a nice return policy and returning the ones that don't fit.

FWIW, a few friends and I took advantage of a promo through a buddy and got Kushitani GPR5's... I fortunately haven't crash-tested mine, but one of has a couple of times. The gloves held up very well each time. Whatever you decide, make certain the glove has a wrist strap/belt.

It's better to try them on. Maybe a local cycle gear or bike shop carries that brand. They can be rated the best gloves in the world but YOU will hate them because they don't fit right.

don't we have a friend that has some dainese connections? if so, that might have just made my decision.
