Sizing for alpinestars jackets? its confusing.

Uhhhhhhgg.

Anyway I want to buy this jacket http://www.alpinestars.com/Vector_Le.../p/310469.html

I don’t know what size to get.

My waist is 29”
My chest is 37”
My inseam on my pants is 32” (although I don’t know why this would matter for jacket sizing).
My hip is 33”
My height is 5’9 ˝”
My weight is 135-140 pounds.

I am a slender guy with a semi muscular build.

Can someone please tell me what size to buy?

I went to the ONLY place in town that sells a big selection of alpinestars gear to try stuff on. They haven’t stocked alpinestars in 2 years?! (cheap bastards lol) So they obviously don’t have this newer jacket in the flesh.
Anyway I tried on a similar leather jacket and it fit pretty good and was size 52. Although I am not entirely sure because the tag looked really haggard and might not even be the right tag lol.
I wear a medium on the textile jackets.
But alpinestars has a VERY confusing sizing chart. They don’t have anything specifically for jackets and only “suits” whatever that really means.
Even on that none of their sizes truly matched up to my body measurements.

So I am asking for someone who has the same jacket or very close and roughly the same build as me to tell me what size to get. I would hate to pay $550 for a jacket get it here and have it not fit me, that would be very shitty!
I am going to order it at the shop where I bought my bike because they will give me a 15% discount on the price and save me shipping costs. I gotta get the size right though!

Thanks guys, and yeah my first post here and I ride a 2009 r6 incase anybody cares…. hello to all and glad to be here.

What is your suit jacket size? I would try a USA 38 or EURO 48, Alpinestars fit the slender folks like us better. You might want to leave a 1/4" slack if you will eventually wear a back protector which will take up the slack. I wear a 42 jacket for the most part and Alpinestars USA 42 is perfect fit!

my chest is a 35 or 36 So I went with a size 40 RC-1. fits like its molded to my body, but i find my wrist come out of the sleeves a little bit & it's a bitch to take the jacket off, so maybe I should have gone with a 42.

Re: Sizing for alpinestars jackets? its confusing.

Size 42 US will fit you..

I'm 5'7" and 175 I wear a 42 us/54 Euro in the MX1, and another A* stunt jacket I got recently.

My buddy is a little taller than me, maybe 5'9" and he is in great shape so i'd say 160ish.. Works out all the time.

Dude, what's so complicated about the sizing chart? I followed it, and was able to measure myself in my office with noone seeing somehow.. It shows the spots to measure. Measure that shit, and whatever measurement puts u into the largest size is the one you need. It's really easy man.

You and your bud both got about 30 pounds on me so hopefully a 52 Euro will fit me fine.

The only thing I found confusing about their sizing chart was there was no section specifically for jackets. Also on the other sizing sections none of them matched all of my measurements correctly. Some had my chest size right and hip size off or something like that.

Anyway thanks guys I guess I am going with a 52 Euro. I am not going to order until this weekend so if anyone else has some input it would be appreciated.

Thanks
