Cool AK2007R6 Build Thread

So after reading through all the pages in Chiefs thread it inspired me to unload the hundreds of pics of what I have done to my bike and the transformation it has gone through and what is planned this winter.....plus I am bored at work and getting paid to sit and day dream about my bike while putting this all together

Bought the bike brand new off the showroom floor during the end of the season.

Below is the day I brought it home. It was pouring down rain the day I bought it and was a little nervous getting it safely back to my garage but we made it. It is a little dirty but here she is along with my old 02 before selling it.

A few days later the weather got a little nicer and I cleaned it up and did a quick photo shoot with my old truck and bike before finally selling them.

My 07, old 02 and my old 02 Silverado

It stayed stock for about a week and then I realized I really need to make it "mine". I started off slow and of course it just spiraled out of control and my wallet was always empty.

Started with some clear flush mounts and a overpriced metal toilet paper holder that the Yamaha shop called a slip on....

Finally summer was coming to an end and the bike was put in the corner of the garage as the white fluffy stuff covered my yard.

Re: AK2007R6 Build Thread

I did some extra time at work and within a few days spent about 3k on parts for the bike. I originally was going to go with a T-Tuner mid pipe and about half way through that project I realized this is really a half assed way to go about this and Ordered a full Leo Vince System, new air filter and a Power Programmer.

Few pictures during the tear down. I think I started drinking and forget to take pictures once I got the stock exhaust off.. so missing a few of the actual install.

Picture close to after it was installed. Think this was for the first version of the picture game..

Re: AK2007R6 Build Thread

sweet andy! hopefully when I get my new 6 I can do this too. I'll def have to do one for the 636 but that'll have to go to the zx forums as I'm sure they'd be more interested, lol

Re: AK2007R6 Build Thread

Next up was changing out the stock windscreen and changing the 3rd light color and also adding the tint to the headlights.

Not the best pic.. will be doing a LED soon.

A good comparison shot of the tint.

Close up
