I had some time on my hands, deicided I'd try and make my own plugs. It's in the beginning stages so please forgive the crapyness.
Right now I am working with 60 gauge styrene plastic to give me a base to go on. Then I plan on using a self hardening epoxy to shape into a perfect fit for the tail & if successful... I will mold and make a solid prototype.
updates on this will be slow, I'm a notorious procrastinator

How are you attaching them? Are you using the two holes in the tail fairing with the plastic rivets?

That's the game plan, currently they are not being held up by anything. I spent the day sanding down the plastic till it was a decent fit, so on it's own currently it just pops into place.
The process would be SOOO much faster if I'd take the tail apart and work in the house, but as I stated before... I'm a procrastinator.

I quit being lazy about this and put in some more time, I'm now sculpting the plug instead of using styrene plastic pieces. I'm close to having a finished prototype.... My one regret was not doing both sides at the same time.
I hope the image size isn't to big?
I started over again from scratch with a resin epoxy.

HEY! I'm an artist 2nd, I'm a Jackass 1st. That is an idea that crossed my mind but the stuff I am using could screw up my paint royal. So I'll do it the hard way.
I over sanded a bit and left myself with a little bit of a dip, not isn't very noticeable unless your looking for it or take a picture with flash like so.

Small update: I Think I'm just about finished with one side. Depending on if I decided to make copies or not will effect how I mouth them onto the bike.
