street riders - PLEASE get knee pads if you don't already have some

if you've got a cycle gear around ya, they're having a sale this weekend. EVERY TIME i see a rider go down on a street ride that doesn't have knee pads both their knees and the sides of their calves are chewed up. it's a ~$20 piece of added insurance. go get a set if you don't. please.

I was in an accident that messed up my right knee, and with knee guards I am sure I could walk right now. Yes I can barely walk. Couldn't for 18 months due to pain.

I am going to get some RS Taichi ones soon.

I wear full leathers, boots, and gauntlets when caynon riding. Commuting, I use a jacket, jeans, and work boots. I'm curious to see if these knee pads would be good for my daily commuting.

I've got the Icon ones. And yes, they will work for daily commuting - I've done it for the last 3 years.

There are pictures of guys where their jeans are all torn-up, but knees and shins saved from the armor. Just think about the force of your knee/shins banging away going down at 30+ mph. I banged my knee dropping my first bike while PARKING it, swelled up for 2 weeks.

Are we talking about dirt bike knee pads or do they have specific knee pads for putting under clothes (jeans)?
