yeah, yet another newB

hey everyone. Like the subject says I am another new peroson to the site. Thus far I am impressed, and like it a lot. and since I'm here, I figure I would ask a question. I was wondering how comfy (or not) the r6's seat is, as well as the riding position. I'm planning on getting a r6 at the end of the month (assuming my boss ever pays me) and I had talked to other people to ride with, who take longer trips, and I was wondering if I rode with them on an r6 would I be able to move my body at the end of the day? Basicially, can you survive on an R6 for longer distance? or does it get too unconfterable? Thanks for you help!!

first off... welcome to the site!!! second, the R6 is one of the more comfortable sportbikes I've ever been on... I can ride for hours, and not feel too bad, but there's only so long you can sit in one position. it all has to do with you body comp/style... So long story short - comfortable, yes, would I want to take a 3 day trip riding 12 hours a day? no...

Yup, I switch the position around and I'm fine. I've taken the bike on long trips to Columbus (about 2 hours of riding) and have been fine. Sometimes that fuel light coming on can be a gift from God!

Welcome to the forum and have fun here. Keep asking questions too!

Yeah its pretty comfy. If you haven't riden much the first day you my feel a little stiff. Just gotta get conditioned to riding. As for long hauls, it all depends on you. I can rid a mountain bike all day non stop, thats the position you'll be in. Some people can do it others can't. My friends and I went to the Mississippi River from Chicago and they were on cruisers. On the way back they had to stop a couple times cause they were hurting, I was fine.

...Can you handle it?

I recently did a 500 mile all day ride. A little stiff and sore the next day but nothing bad.

It was defintely worth it for the roads we hit.

Although if you really want to alot of long distance riding on it, I would sugest clip-on risers and a gel seat or Corbin seat and a Double Bubble windscreen.

I did a 300 plus mile trip once. For some reason my abs and both legs were sore as hell. I think the stock rearset is not set up for my size, or maybe my body wasn't condition to take make a 300 mile twisitie run. It was hell of a good time, thats untill i lay her down. Oh well, she is all good now.

Bike: Lots of Yamaha's
Welcome to the site.

And as for the seat....compare it to an f4i, and the r6 feels like a pillow compared to the brick seat on an f4i

hey, thanks for all the replies. I would like to think that I'm a tough kid and can handle a long haul. the trips my friends go on covers about 300 miles a day. That doesn't sound TO bad.
