Ok hold on. There isn't "NO" engine braking, and it isnt an on/off switch. There is less ekgine braking if you want there to be, something like the way it used to be with a carb. It's just that our bikes shut the injectors off when the throttle is closed, but above idle rpm, which makes them engine brake really hard. If you get the interface from flash-tune, it's not a check box, it's a slider bar, you can have as little or as much engine braking as you want. Whoever keeps saying that it is either "A or B" has no idea what they're talking about.
In regards to the updates. Call Chris at flash-tune. (888) 543-6302. He will tell you all about it. The most recent update was a simulated quick turn throttle. Coming soon will be auto tune using a wideband O2 sensor and traction control... I think it's worth getting the interface because If you want to fine tune anything, you'll have the ability to. Of course if you call Chris, he will customize a tune for you even if you want to do the mail in flash.
easy there Cupcake.. i just said IF you had to choos "A" or "B" i would go elsewhere. Having the ability to cusomize your tune is ideal. If someone can do as good a job with the race experience support that Jetttuning does for way less money.. go for it.
just to chime in here I recently had jett tuning reflash my '09. since they were local to me i brought my ecu there and picked it up the next day. its quite noticable. i chose the "stock-ish" idle, despite this, there is still less engine braking than stock, and this "stock-ish" idle is about 1800-1900 rpm.
my favorite part is that the off-to-on throttle transition is perfect now! almost reminded me of a buttery smooth, perfectly tuned carbed bike. before with my PCV it was a little choppy upon initial throttle cracking.
i'd still go back there for a dyno tune, as im still only using a downloaded map for my full akra, but its fantastic so far. also, the little things like the codes being disabled for the o2 sensor and exup servo are nice.

Mark2jz, you MUST go to the dyno after a flash.. even with the flash-tune company, unless you have some "auto-map' that will add some fuel up top. Remember, you are unrestricting the butterflys at high rpm. without adding fuel up there, you are LEAN (bad). This is on their website and i would imagine Taige or John told you this?
If anything, it was worth to me the little extra to pay JEtttuning to do it as it will be NEAR PERFECT especially for racing, out of the box when you get it back. The flash-tune looks like lots of people tuning on their own.. that is fun and cool, but i wanna race NOW
I think we went through this before about 80 posts ago. The unrestricted throttle map doesn't just open the butterflies more. By running 100% throttle, it sends more fuel as well as air because it runs the fuel map for 100% throttle. It doesn't open the butterflies 100% and run an 80% fuel map. So you're right, you need more fuel, but it does this already. No doubt that a dyno tune is better, but you won't run lean without it.

Actually you are unrestricting the throttle down low, up high it's already pretty unrestricted on the R6 (If you want to see a restrictive throttle, look at the R1). Doesn't matter who you go to they are just guessing on the tune. Every bike is completely different. No one can "perfectly" tune your bike without doing it on the bike. In my opinion not even a dyno is an accurate way to tune these bikes. I really don't think either of those two companies are doing anything that different than the other. All either company can do is load up a fuel map that was created on a similar bike, and hope that it works (and most of the time it will).
