there is no way for any software to know where the butterflys are actually positioned.. You turn the throttle, the tps tells the ecu what your doing but the ecu in return moves the butterflys in most respects in relation to your hand, but not at high rpms. The butterflys stay partially closed at high rpm even if your hand has the grip turned all the way..
just got off the phone with the guys at Bazzaz. Currently none of the bazzaz products remove the butterfly restrictions on a yamahaR6. On the crb the "z-bomb" will remove the restrictions in 1st and 2nd gear.. but nothing on the R6. Only way to get 100% throttle position in high rpm is flash the box (in conjunction with a bazzaz, Powercommander, etc) or run a YEC box.
This won't be a 10hp increase like the midrange of the 08vs 06-07.. we saw only a 2.5hp at the top or so but more in the midrange, and better "rideability". As well as increased rev limit (used occasionally instead of a quick upshift then right back down on some corners of some tracks) and i like the higer idle, as well as slipper "effect" of having the injectors shut down slower than stock.

k, NP. I don't think there is anything to remove. I never said it removed anything.
and the z-bomb removes a timing retard.
I'm waiting for a reliable source to post here. Till then..

ahjeeze. No, there is nothing to "physically" remove.. not unbolt or unscrew, but you did indicate that your "$80 dyno runs" and the "..50pulls" you have done on your bike with a bazzaz show 100% throttle position. I'm telling you, your not understanding how the flybywire system works, and i'm also telling you that PER BAZZAZ (call em now if you don't believe me - would that be "reliable" enough??) none of the systems they sell, none, will override the partially closed butterflys that occur with a stock ecu 06+ yamaha R6. You did imply it does, stating you saw 100% throttle position, and i explained you always will see that on the dyno. Hell, i can get that to show on my powercommander program when im plugged in without the bike even RUNNING, just plug into the usb, turn the switches on, wait for the program to recognise the ECU, and turn the throttle.. you sould see "throttle position" go from "0" to "100".. i actually had a bike with the throttle position set wrong in the Powercommander program, it was only registering to 96% with full throttle.. Took awhile to figure that one out but it is easy to set.

Look, I'm done debating with you. Unless you put the 3rd gen R6 in DIAG mode and twist the throttle, that way, the readout of voltage from the TPS is NOT giving you the voltage for 100% throttle. The software displays the TPS position, not the position of the throttle tube.
No shit there is nothing to physically remove. The bazzaz does not remove any high RPM restriction becuase there is no high RPM throttle restriction. That is what I am saying.
This whole topic stems from you saying that the R6 is like the R1, where they have limited the output of the motor in the high RPMs.
Call bazzaz back and as them why you need to have the bike WOT on a DYNO with the load on the bike when setting the TPS calibration. There's your answer.
I've asked someone to come post in here to settle this. When that happens, if I am wrong, great, I will eat my words. I have no problem admitting I am wrong. I don't know you, or your level of expertise.
how come you are the only one who has this knowledge about the butterflies not opening 100% in the high revs? Where else is this information? Don't you think everyone would be on top of this already if you were right?
Why does the bazzaz TPS readout show less than 100% throttle in the low revs when the throttle is in fact turned to 100%??? If i see that live correct reading in action, and the tracer will NEVER hit 100% throttle at low revs, but will in the top end, where am I wrong? Have you sat with the software open while the bike is run on the dyno?
I tune my OWN bike on the dyno while it's ridden. I have observed this first hand. Until a known tuner and crew chief posts in here, I will not believe your argument. Like I said, till then we agree to disagree. I've asked someone to post who will know this for a fact. Let him prove us both wrong for all I care.
Maybe we both are somewhat wrong and right.. Maybe the 08 is just that badass that it doesn't have this restriction and other years do. Still waiting for someone special to chime in here..
You're allowed to be wrong. At least you were willing to look for answers, but I am still interested to see if it makes as big of a difference in your 08 as it does on my 09. Let's set up the dyno day. Do they tune bikes there too? In other words do they have a wideband, Or do they just do pulls? I'd like to dial my bike in a bit too.

They don't have the wideband. When I was doin all the pulls with my bike we used the bazzaz wideband. That was actually the main reason we did runs the first time. We were testing te results of the bazzaz and it's effectiveness.
I'll give u a ring back tonight if that's cool! I'm at physical therapy now and been tied up most the day at work.
