Convert 2005 R6 clip on's to Dirtbike Handle Bars

I was thinking about removing all the body work and 1/2 the sub frame to build a naked bike out of my 2005 R6. I own a 2008 Ducati Hypermotard and love the handlebar stance. (only real bummer it is hard to split lanes with the hyper in California traffic, but will make it manage and be fun on the R6) I was looking into how to drill into the upper triple clamp and add dirt bike riser mounts and dirt bike handlebars. I am sure there is a stunter on here that has done this. Was going to stay with stock diameter/width bars so everything would slide on.

1. How did you align the drill holes on the upper triple?

2. Where the stock clutch and brake lines long enough?

3. Could I use a FZ-1 or FZ-6 upper?

If there is already a thread to this, then just PM me it and delete this....less clutter.

I will NOT be stunting.....just wanted to go naked. So no 12' o clock bars or crash cages. Basically, if it adds weight..I want to remove it! (minus the Renthal handlebars)

Thanks R6 crew....just looking to mix it up.

Post pictures if you have any....

You could just buy 2"-3" riser that attach to your forks. It's the same thing.

Re: Convert 2005 R6 clip on's to Dirtbike Handle Bars

Yeah I was thinking about a company called Heli Bars that makes those but decided I really want to have a solid bar....plus they are $220...ha ha ha! https://www.helibars.com/product/yam...ent-handlebars

I kind of want to make a project out of it....risers bars like this will be my last choice.

Thanks for looking out....

Lopez95632...any advice or pictures will help.

I might just swing by a stunter show and see how they convert if all else fails...

Re: Convert 2005 R6 clip on's to Dirtbike Handle Bars

I am going put on risers onto a separate triple clamp and try making one.....if else fails I put it back to stock.
