Alright so I got a 2004 yamaha r6, cleaned it after the storm with a bucket and water. Rode it once then it died, thought it was the battery so jumped it, works then dies. Got it looked at by a guy in a car shop who owns a zx10, says there's an error 1 showing and parts of my bike got wet..(like my scorpio i500 alarm system) so been leaving it and letting it dry out but today I tried starting it again and nothing.. No lights, everything on the dashboards not even working like neutral light and everything and won't start.. I don't know what to do and new to bikes so anything would help...
So when you turn the key on, you get no power to the dash display, but when you connect the booster cables you get power? Start with charging the battery, or getting a new battery, and report back. Sounds like your stator or rectifier isn't working.
Alright well the battery was dead so got a new one. Now it lights up and tries to start but still it still won't. Got it towed to the shop (fixed it instantly without waiting for my go..is that legal? I just wanted to know what the problem is first and how much but they just did it.. But anyway) so they said its just fouled spark plugs $8 ea. so now it's fixed still sitting in the shop because labor was $70/hour for 2hours.. I could've done it if I knew what was wrong but guess I gotta pay them since they fixed it.

First off they fixed it without you signing a release for work? and then they charged you 2 hours labor for 4 spark plugs? i have done this job a few times on my 05 and maybe an hour max if your drinking beer and chich chating with your buddy "helping" you.

I can't speak for all the GDC members though...There is certainly an abundance of jackassery over there... :lol

Yea dude no permission or anything but I did get it towed there and said I wanted to get it fix just not go ahead and fix it since I didn't even know what the problem was then... But I ended up paying them and got the the bike now. Never going back there again.
Do you have the original manual? The troubleshooting section is actually pretty useful. If you don't have it, it's floating around the web somewhere as a PDF file.
