I've seen many threads that seem to have the same problem as my early model r6. Typical symptoms are: Fully charged battery, ride for about 30-45 minutes, bike dash flickers, exhaust sputters, bike dies, and battery's dead. I think I've looked up all I can on this chronic R6 problem and I've seen it's either the stator, rectifier or both. I changed my burnt rectifier-same problem. Checked out my stator- clearly shot, so I changed it as well. Lo and behold bike still dies after 30 minutes of running off the battery. Is there some option or check up I'm missing? Any help or advice is welcome, at this point I'm willing to try anything.
Check my 02 thread OP. Maybe it will shed some light on the voltage tests that somewhat indicate if the stator is working.
Did you replace the plug end or do the female ends instead of the plug, etc? Check my thread in my signature and if you have the burnt up plug still on there that could be the issue.
Did you get an OEM stator and rectifier? Both brand new or used? If used did you do the resistance tests on the stator?
@Revelations all I have running is the bike when you turn it on and it cuts off even while riding and yesterday I didn't wanna get stuck with a dead bike in traffic again and it died idling. So I think it's more than just the battery. I've also bought 2 batteries since I've bought each replacement part.
@Chief I'm new to this member forum thing so I'm not sure how to view your 02 op thread, because it won't let me click the signatures haha. And the parts I've replaced with are all new OEM bought from amazo, stator and RR. The new stator of course came with the male plug but I didn't replace the female plug(ill post a picture if the plug to see if you think it need replace it as well.
