Have fun maintaining that motor...

I use to race a motard and the yz is the least competitive motor out of all the 450s.

I considered this for IMI (go cart track): http://www.cosportbikeclub.org/forum...ad.php?t=48500

Supposedly it actually keeps up with sv650's at HPR and other full road courses. Fantastic corner speed.

Yeah that looks fun too! Either would be a great project. I'm just really in to the idea of one of these smaller lighter bikes just to go have fun on. Maintenance might be a bit h but if its not your primary bike no problemo

Someone posted earlier about a guy selling a bike just like this but with the 50th ani color scheme.

This conversion looks to be on an 06-09 YZf, as the 2010+ would likely be a huge challenge to do, with the backwards motor and flip-flopped intake/tank etc. Anyhow, even the 06-09 YZf motors are the most reliable (as are the 2010+), so not sure what you are referring to. And the Suzuki 05-07 motor was easily the softest motor out there, not to mention it's 4spd gearbox.

That being said, no reason an 06+ YZf couldn't be competative in SM or in a conversion like that, in my opinion.
