Oil Leak From Stator Area : Yamaha R6 : R6 Forum

I did a search and didn't find anyone similar to this. I have a oil leak and first I thought it was coming from the cover or a bolt that holds the stator cover on. I went and cleaned the bike off really well and when I got home I took a close look and one of the small leaks I have is coming from the rubber grommet that houses the wires for the stator that goes into the top of the cover. Oil is coming out of the area the wires go into the grommet. Has anyone experienced this before. If need be I can snap some pictures to show what I mean just haven't had time to yet.

Make sure your oil level is right....there shouldn't be that much pressure at the top of the case where the wires are exiting.

The oil level is showing right at the full mark, I thought it was the gasket so replaced it but after that it was still leaking and after cleaning it all off well you can see it slowing coming from that spot.

did you run a bead of RTV/yamabond in the two ridges where the rubber grommet lies?

Yes, oil I leaking out through the wires not the sides of the grommet.
