2005 r6 wont keep the battery charge, help me

i am having almost the same issue, i have a 2005 r6 raven and yesterday i was riding and everything just shuted down, it wasn't reading the rpm's and even the odometer wasn't working but the bike was running still. i charged the battery took it out for a ride today and the same thing happen. wtf?

sounds like you need to replace the battery, not recharge it

first off..
before you do anything take a voltage meter and read the voltage of the battery with bike off..

then take a reading of the battery with the bike on.. after that take a reading of the battery while revving the bike to about 5k rpm.

report back with results.. and if you have time take your battery out and bring it to a bike shop and have them load test it.

these test are all free you dont need to throw money away yet.

Yup... load test is the best way to know if you're battery is still good or not.

I had a similar issue, in addition to load testing it check to make sure the battery terminals are nice and tight.
