Help, Im confused.

I have a 2001 r6 and the speedometer/odometer wasn't working. So the Yamaha dealership here installed a new speed sensor. I picked up the bike last Wednesday and I think the problem was fixed. On my way home from the dealership, it seemed like everything was working properly. The bike ran good. However, when I parked the bike in the garage, I left it idling for about two minutes, then I noticed that the engine revs were dropping. It was dropping so low that the bike eventually stalled out. So I cranked the bike to attempt to start it again, but it wouldn't want to start. So I thought I ran out of gas. I checked the fuel tank and I still had a lot of fuel left. So I tried to start it again giving it a lot of throttle and the bike started. Then the revs started dropping once again until the bike eventually stalled. I cranked the bike once more. When I got the bike running, I tried to raise the revs by adjusting the idle adjustment knob on the right side of the bike, the one above the clutch cover. The problem though was I couldn't get the bike idling around the factory recommended idle speed (around 1300 rpm). When I play with the adjustment knob, the idle is either high or low. Anyway I managed to get the bike idling at 1500 rpm which was good enough for me after a hundred tries. After about a minute idling at that speed, the revs eventually dropped again until the bike stalled out. When I tried to start the bike again, it doesn't want to start. After many attempted tries, I still cannot get the bike to start. I checked everything, the kill switch, neutral, kickstand, clutch lever, but I can't get the bike to start. When I turn the ignition on, the lights work, my gauge is on, but when I press the starter button, I only hear a repetitive click and at the same time, my lights and my gauges flicker. Also when pressing the starter button, as the lights are flickering, my speedo is rapidly giving me different readings; from 0 mph to around 37 mph. At this point, I don't know what to do and I am so frustrated I want to kick the bike. Sorry for the long post but I'm hoping that somebody out here knows what's going on with my bike. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

Ok, I figured out what the problem was, actually the mechanic at the dealership here found out what the problem was. He was cool enough not to charge me anything after he got the bike running. I'm very happy with that. The reason why the bike was stalling was because it was choking itself to death. There is a breather hose that comes out from the crankcase and I found out that the previous owner of the bike hooked that breather hose directly to the airbox to gain extra horsepower. The mechanic said it was typical for the 1999-2002 Yamaha R6 owners to do that to gain a little bit more performance from the engine. However, because the breather hose is now connected to the airbox, all that dust, dirt, and carbon deposits are being sucked into the breather hose causing the engine to choke and eventually stalling. As soon as he disconnected that breather hose from the airbox, the bike started running normally. The revs no longer dropping and the bike no longer stalling out. He said what I need to do is to put an air filter at the end of that breather hose so that dust and carbon deposits wouldn't go there. He was going to put one, but he didn't have one lying around the shop. My question is what kind of filter do you need to put at the end of that breather hose?

A fuel filter for a car will work. Or they sell automotive breather filters at autozone for imports that you can modify to work.
