Exclamation 99 R6 fuel pump q???

Hey guys, I have noticed this year since I put my bike back on the road that everytime I turn the key ahead, the fuel pump kicks in for a few seconds. Last year it was not like that. The only time the pump ran was when the bike was left over night or for a few dayz, and then it would run for a second or 2 when I first turned the key.

Is this meaning that my pump is on its way out?

Also after the pump stops, I can hear air bubbles in the tank and when I open the gas cap, I can see them coming from the 2 tubes that are in the tank. I never heard this at all before.

And, my low fuel light is not working at all. It tests when I turn the key on and thats it.

The only thing that I can think that caused this is, when I was storing it for the winter last year, I ran the tank out of fuel and then ran the lines dry and the battery died trying to run the fuel pump constantly at idle. When it shut off, that was the last time I ran it until this year.

I would like one fix to be the answer but I am guessing I have seperate problems here, but I am most concerned about the pump running problem!!!

So what do u R6 guru's figure about this problem!!!

Thx in advance

Not to sure U should try to fill the tank and then come home and disconnect the battery and then hook it up again that might fix your low fuel light problem not too sure on the bubbles or the pump Sorry
