From $1900/year to $400/year insurance. Go with State Farm.

Long story short, the cheapest I could find full coverage insurance for my 03 R6 was $1900/year with some company in Texas. It was more or less equal to Progressives rates. In order for my bank to cut me a check I had to have insurance, and in order for State Farm to issue me insurance, they had to see the bike (the bike was 2 hours away). Being in a catch 22, I had to order insurance with a company that didnt require inspection of the bike.

Today I finally got down to State Farm to switch over and its now costing me $217.28 per 6 months. I was paying nearly that much PER MONTH with these other quotes!

State Farm rates their bikes according to size, rather than by type/model of bike. The only catch is that you have to have an auto with them as well, which is fine, cause that is cheaper for me too. I am paying a total of about $130/month for both my 4x4 truck and m R6.

I wouldn't have admitted to driving a PT Cruiser.

State farm won't take you if you have more than one point. And as soon as you get a point BAM! - your rates spike with them. You cansay they are cheap now, but compared to if/when you get nailed...

For those of us with 2+ points, State Farm can go die.
