Question 06 R6 Oil problem???

Hi everyone,
I own a 06 R6 and I'm from Turkiye...
My bike gave a oil check warning once. Then when i went to the service they said that it's a high rev machine and the oil is so thin so it's possible that the level of the oil gets lower...
This happened at the end of october.
Then yesterday i started my bike for a little run, after few minutes the oil check light became on again...
Same problem again...

Does anyone ever had that problem..??
I'll go to the service tomorrow,
very curious about what they will say...

Re: 06 R6 Oil problem???

Start using Yamalube brand 20w-40 weight oil. And you are possibly a half quart or so on the low side, since many shops employ people that believe that the dipstick gets screwed in to check oil level, when in fact it does not. Checking oil level by screwing the dipstick in will leave you low enough to turn the oil light on.

WOW! I have always wondered about this. I have always assumed that you check it after screwing it in, but you seem to say different! I guess I will begin checking my oil level differently now, by not screwing it in.

Thanks!

You definitely DON'T check the oil with the dipstick in. That was a good point to make BISHILVR, because you'll be surprised at how many people don't know.
