Thumbs up sickxeclipse (NEVERMIND... Just a bad case of bad timing.)

NOTHING WRONG. He was having some domestic problems, and didn't have access to a computer with internet access... Bad timing on both our parts, but he is trying to respond and help me with the issue.

I was told I can remove the inner projector lense that is cracked, and replace it with a good one or something.

I purchased his headlight assembly 'cause he had crashed and didn't want to take out the headlight conversion ket and install on his new assembly.

I got the item last Monday (7-16-07) so everything was fine. I started to tear it down on Tuesday (7-17-07) and noticed that the kit was damaged too.

I thought nothing of it, thinking that he didn't see the damage. I PM'ed him that Tuesday to let him know, and to request a refund after I returned the item.

I checked a couple days after that, and it showed that he read it on Wednesday, but never replied. But I thought that he may be busy or something...

I finally sent another PM yesterday (7-22-07)...

This is what I got when I checked my PM's just now...

this is his girlfriend, we broke up so he's not going to be using my laptop anymore. i took his phone too. so whoever this is you probably wont be able to get ahold of him anytime soon.
I call BS on that.

I checked his myspace, and he logged on his account today (7-23-07). I send him a message through myspace.

Can anyone recommend anything? I'm really pissed right now.

that sucks...maybe give him the benefit of the doubt for a day or two more, then if nothing, try talking to a mod...but legally theres nothing you can really do because the seller is usually protected...sorry to hear about the bad deal

Yeah... I definitely give people plenty of time to respond.

I'm going to if this doesn't get resolved by the end of the week, but I've had some pretty bad experiences with paypal disputes as well... For example, I received dammaged fairing pieces, and paypal said, "Yes, we side with you... BUT we can only send the seller an email ASKING them to refund the money."

That was AFTER I sent the items back, and AFTER the *****ing seller re-sold them to someone else on Ebay.

One of the lenses in the middle has a crack in it. It wouldn't matter if one of the OUTER lenses was broken, but the whole point in buying the item was to transfer the headlight conversion kit to my bike.

I've been a magnet for bad purchases this past year.

You know that's weird. I've always had great experiences with Paypal. I filed a dispute once with a seller because the item was claimed to have been in mint condition. When I got it, it had a huge chip in the frame, extremely noticeable. So I contacted him repeatedly and he wouldn't reply. I waited until the 42nd day (since you only have 45 to file a complaint) and Paypal said they'd contact him.

He didn't respond to them either within the 10 days, so they took the money directly from his account. I guess he only had a couple bucks in the account because they said that was all they could get and that they'd keep checking back. Within 2 days, I had all my money.

Re: CAUTION: sickxeclipse

Paypal insures most items for a specified period of time. They will go after a seller for refunds when fraudulent and get the money back. You typically have a credit card or bank account associated with paypal, they credit the cc.

Re: CAUTION: sickxeclipse

Update:
I got TWO replies... One on Myspace, and one here on the forum.

The myspace one is from the g/f (according to the message) and she kicked him out and also changed all his passwords.

The forum reply is from him (straight up) and is claiming the same thing, but he will accept the return... He just has to settle somewhere and he'll let me know what to do after that.

Sounds a bit fishy that an ex-g/f would change passwords like that... If I broke up with someone, I wouldn't even bother with stuff like that, but since I don't really know the whole story, I've still got hope and giving him the benefit of the doubt.

I also thought of something... If I can save BOTH parties from more hassle, is there ANY way I can replace the lens? I see a couple screws holding the silver "ring", but I remember reading that those were the adjustment screws...

The bike manual shows DIFFERENT adjustment screws, so am I wrong on this? If I can remove the lens from MY bike and replace the cracked lens, it would make it easier to do that, than to return the item.

I'm sure John would rather NOT deal with a return as much as I would rather not.
