Now For Sale: Roland Sands 450 Singles

Well, announced today we can now buy one for our selfs. They cost $15K basically after taxes. Who here is thinking about getting one? Also, the whole idea of these bikes is to have an entry level bike for youngsters so they don't have to jump on a 600 to go racing and for it to be more affordable in the long run. They're talking about making this an AMA class. I like the bikes and think it's a cool idea. I'd get one for trackdays for fun and to just say i have one. The only thing I noticed is the Price is high. I think you could get a 2003 R6 for about 3-4K and use the other 10k to race/track prep it. But these bikes are starting a new category. "ICONIC" LOL

What's your thought?

http://www.rolandsands.com/popup.html here's the yellow R1 somebody was asking about. I guess the entire bike was made by Roland.

I saw both of those bikes and this one @ the Indy Dealer Show

I think they were awesome and think it'd be a great idea for entry level racing. If it does take off and make it, there will be a point where it's affordable for most maybe 5 years into it.

Re: Now For Sale: Roland Sands 450 Singles

it's for track use for kids that are up and coming. And cheaper for families to afford then for a full 100hp 600 with too much power for a 12-16 year old.

I've been thinking about returning to racing on one of these... Overall, it will be much cheaper than running a competitive 600.

I didn't look into the specifics but I'm assuming its a much simpler machine to maintain and in case of a crash probably easier to repair.
