i am about to finish hooking up my bike alarm, and need to tie into the ignition wires to prevent it from being stated when the alarm is on.
by any chance does anyone have a diagram of the ignition wires for an 05?
Thanks

Theres 4 wires going to the ignition. If you follow them under your tank there are two connectors, a red one and a white one. The main power +12 volt constant is the red wire in the white connector. The other wire in white connector is the switched +12 volt that is only on when the key is on.
i am going to have to take a look at it tomorrow and see what i can get done.
out of curiosity, what are the other two wires?

They are power/ground/do something with the starter circuit cutoff relay. If you put +12 volts into the wrong one of them, it fries the starter circuit and brings on a whole new headache, which can be solved by grounding both of them, and then taping over the neutral light that will constantly be on.... yeah, ask me how I know about that....
alright so it looks like for my alarm, i am going to have to tire into the other wire in the white connector (not the red one) for my alarm to cut power to the ignition when the alarm is locked
at least from my understanding...
Thanks again

I think it was brown. My bike isn't here right now or I would go look. There are two wires that are 16 gauge(thicker) and two wires that are 18 gauge(thinner). The thicker ones are your main power wires. You'll want the thicker, non-red wire it sounds like.
also, the wiring diagram in the manual is misleading. It shows a single hot wire going to the ignition, and 2 switched wires. The way its drawn up, it looks like all 3 switched wires get +12 when the key it turned on, do that and you'll fry your ignition relay. Thats why I didn't post a link to the manual, because its wrong in this case.
