electrical switch question help

Ok so i just made my angel eyes WOOT. and i want to wire it up so i can just have the angel eyes on, or have the angels and headlight. To do this do i need a 3 way switch? Like the off for everythign off, then the middle for angels, and the last switch for both? I know i will need to cut my wire for the running lamp so the light doesnt go on when i start the bike. has anyone done this or have input let me know!! thanks

Re: electrical switch question help

i would not think you need to cut any head light wires. just wire the remote line from the angels eyes to the middle of a 3 way switch, then the power to a continous source(battery) then ground to your frame some where. then just run the power and ground to the battery or another alternant soucre that has continuous power since you want to be able to use them with the lights on or off

Re: electrical switch question help

Either have two switches one angel eyes and one headlights, or run the headlight power to the middle of the three way, put the angel eyes on one side and headlight and angel eyes on the other side. You will need to use a diode to keep the headlight power from backfeeding to the other side of the switch.
