Re: R1 vs R6

I've ridden an 07 R1 and it was pretty amazing, but after about 30 min I was more than happy to be back on my 6.

Handling: Not as good as the R6. Can't flick it around as easily. With the R6 you can carve the sh*t out of corners and it will go where you are spotting throughout your line. On the R1 you fight it more and pray that it goes where you want it to go.

Power: difference is night and day, r1 vs. r6 is like a mustang GT vs. a porsche 911 turbo. The R1 is cranking out like 50+ more hp than the 6, not to mention its packing 400 more cc's. The R1 is a beast. First time I rode one I was terrified of 1st gear.

Seating Position: sit on both and see what is more comfortable to you. Personally, I was a little more comfy on the R1 but thats mostly because I'm 6"2' and its a bigger bike.

Everything Else: do your homework on both and read detailed reviews.

Re: R1 vs R6

If you're like me and love getting low to the ground & hitting up the twisties, stick with the 6. But if you like longer highway rides & going faster, then try the R1.

So the R1 has worse handling then the R6 huh? Wonder how that is and why. I am going to try to ride one one of these days.

It's a heavier bike being a full 400cc's more than the 6. You can't whip it around as easily.

Re: R1 vs R6

Yeah its pretty common sense why it doesnt handle as well......mario kart puts it quite well haha, nice

i also dont like the liter bikes as much as my 600....handles better, i feel more comfy on it, and just as an overall bike i love my 600 a million to 1 over the liter. But if you're really goin the liter bike route i prefer the R1 over the others

Re: R1 vs R6

I own an '03 R6 and an '06 R1, and while my R6 may flick a little better, the R1 feels way more planted and inspires a lot more confidence in the corners for me. And I can get my R1 pretty low in the corners
