I'm no oil pro but I would say no. Most of the labels say that the oils will mix with conventional, blends, and synthetics.

You are correct as long as we are not talking blending or making your own "Cocktail"

No oil manufacturer recommends to intentionally blend not only different brands, synthetic or petroleum, but even not to blend different oils from the same manufacturer as additive packs may vary.

Mixing of an oil in an emergency is fine, most will be compatible for that but is always recommended to do a change ASAP.

Thanks Bob. I was trying to say in a round about way that there shouldn't be a problem with switching.

I pretty much figured that is where you were coming from. I just wanted it to be clear as I have seen many questions in the past where people will want to indiscriminately mix oils.

In just the last week, I had someone want to mix AMSOIL 10W-40 with 20W-50 to make 15W-45... Why, I have no idea, but the answer was No...

Re: quick oil question

no im not looking to mix different oils or anything. ive been using full synthetic and came across a case of motul synthetic blend and just wasnt sure if switching from full syn to syn blend would be an issue.

No problem... Hope you understand that we just need to be clear on what someone is thinking... Sometimes difficult over the net.
